The $300 Million Button

User interface design is one of my big interests. I do not talk about it much because I have so many pet peeves with interfaces. The irritation factor is high.

However, once in a great while, somebody gets it right, and there are grand “A-ha!” moments to be shared by all. This time, the interface improvement involved a single button and a huge boost in company sales.

Me, too. Particularly if I am in a rush. The only online retailer that could re-build a clone of me from my profile is probably Amazon, but there’s a trust relationship there that was built over a lot of time.

Delayed comment here, but that article was great! Simplicity is key…which is what their registration form seems to already be. Clear instructions may even be better! Great move on their part, I know that I sure hate registering all over the web, especially when you infrequently purchase from one location and fear that you may face the risk of being spammed.
